Beck is a former associate professor of Hebrew and Old Testament at Concordia University Wisconsin who has written extensively about the function of geography in biblical narratives, including the "Geography" entry in Dictionary for Theological Interpretation (Baker Academic Press, 2006). Currently a guide in Israel for Bible World Seminars, he is the author of The Land of Milk and Honey (Concordia Academic Press, 2006).
